Introduction to Key Monitoring Data of Major River Basins in China

River water quality monitoring involves regular testing and surveillance of water bodies such as rivers, streams, and lakes to assess aquatic health, protect ecological environments, and maintain the sustainability of human livelihoods and economic development.

China, one of the countries with the most rivers globally, has seen its civilization thrive alongside riverine cultures. Prosperous rivers drive economic growth and cultural vitality, directly impacting production, daily life, and ecological conditions across regions.

CnOpenData has compiled water quality monitoring data from 2007 to 2018 for key sections of major river basins nationwide. This dataset covers monitoring information from 16 major river systems, 100 rivers, and 150 key monitoring sections, providing critical support for related research.
